SureWest provides a parental control feature that enables you to limit the selections you or your family can watch. When a selection is blocked, a message will scroll on the top of the screen. Neither the blocked selection nor its program description can be viewed without unlocking the parental controls. This is across the entire program guide and VOD library.

Enable / Disable Parental Controls

Use the procedure below to enable and disable parental controls.

Enabled

To re-enable parental controls simply click on the unhinged lock tab. The lock image will now appear as locked. The time frame can be adjusted by going back into Settings, clicking on the Parental Control Change button, and selecting the appropriate time frame from the Unlock Timeout drop-down menu.

Disabled

Parental Controls must be enabled for this tab to appear on the main menu. Clicking on this tab and entering your password will disable parental controls for up to 270 min. The lock image will now be unhinged and parental controls will be disabled for the designated time frame.
