SureWest provides a parental control feature that enables you to limit the selections you or your family can watch. When a selection is blocked, a message will scroll on the top of the screen. Neither the blocked selection nor its program description can be viewed without unlocking the parental controls. This is across the entire program guide and VOD library.

Set Parental Controls

Use these procedures to set parental controls for each user group (e.g., for children, teens and adults) and to change logins and passwords.

1. Press Menu on the remote control.
2. Select Settings and press the OK button.
3. Enter your password (or 1234 if this is the first time) and select and press the OK button.

   Note:

   The password must be numerical.

4. Scroll to Parental Control, select Change, and press the OK button.
5. Create and update the information.

   Note:

   This action is for the main account only.

6. Select Done and press the OK button.

   Result:

   The parental controls are now set.

7. To add additional users, select the Users tab and press OK.
8. To add a new user, select Add and press the OK button.
   To change a user, select the user and press the OK button.
9. Create or update the information for each user.
10. Select Done and press the OK button.

    Result:

    The parental controls are now set for that individual user.
