• Delete an Email Address

Add an Email Address

1. Login to My SureWest

   Note:

   You MUST login as the primary account user in order to create an new email address.

   
   
2. Click on the My Services link



Note:

You can also access this feature from the Account Management link > Password Management button. If you are using this path, skip to step #4.

3. Click on the Manage E-mail Addresses button.



Result:

My SureWest Security Information page opens.

4. Click the Add Email Address button.

   Note:

   You will see previously established surewest.net email addresses on this page.



5. Enter the following information into the Add Email Address form (Figure 1):
   • Email Address: ONLY type the email address name NOT the domain. This is already set for you as @surewest.net. See Figure 1 below)
   • Password: Your desired password
   • Confirm password: Your desired password

     Note:

     Passwords must be at least 7 characters long with 3 of the following: uppercase, lowercase, number, or symbol. Click here for more username and password information.

   Note:

   When you add an email address, the system checks to see if the username already exists. If so, the following message displays: This email address is already in use. Continue to try variations of the email address until you find one that is not already in use. The system will also indicate if the email address entered is invalid: This email address is not valid.

   
   
6. Press the Submit button.
   
   

   Result:

   Add Email Confirmation message opens.

   Note:

   From a logged in state complete steps 4-6 to add any additional email addresses.

7. Click the Close button.

Delete an Email Address

1. Login to My SureWest

   Note:

   You MUST login as the primary account user in order to delete an email address.

   
   
2. Click on the My Services link

   Note:

   You can also access this feature from the Account Management link > Password Management button. Skip to step #4.




3. Click on the Manage E-mail Addresses button.



Result:

My SureWest Security Information page opens.

4. Click the Add Email Address button.

   Note:

   You will see previously established surewest.net email address(es) on this page.



5. Click the Remove link next to the email address you wish to delete.

   IMPORTANT:

   This action deletes the email address and ALL email currently on the SureWest mail server.

6. Click OK button to confirm you would like to delete your email address.

   

   Result:

   Remove Email Address Confirmation window opens.

7. Click the Close button.

Usernames

Username restrictions are provided below:

• At least 2 characters in length (minimum)
• No more than 50 characters in length (maximum)
• Do not use special characters, including punctuation marks and symbols.

  Note:

  You can use the underscore character to separate words. For example: jack_frost

Passwords

Password restrictions and recommendations are provided below:

• At least 7 characters in length (minimum) and contain at least 3 of the following: uppercase. lowercase, numbers, or symbols

  Note:

  Example password: Password123

• No more than 15 characters in length (maximum)
