What is Caller ID on TV?
Caller ID on TV is a feature of your SureWest Advanced Digital TV service that allows you to see your incoming telephone call information right on your TV.
How does Caller ID on TV work?
When someone calls your home phone, a pop up screen will appear on your TV. The pop up screen will let you know what phone number is calling and who the caller is (when available), Caller ID on TV allows you to enjoy your TV programming without being interrupted and lets you know when an urgent call comes in.
How do I sign up for Caller ID on TV?
If you are currently a new SureWest triple play customer, meaning that you have your home phone, high speed Internet and Advanced Digital TV service with SureWest you will receive the feature at no additional charge and it will automatically be added to your account. If you do not subscribe to all three services, but have both SureWest Advanced Digital TV service and SureWest telephone service, an additional monthly charge of $9.99 will apply. You can sign up by calling 866.SureWest or by going to www.surewest.com If you subscribe to Advanced Digital TV with Digital Phone, you must subscribe to at least Digital Basic or higher and Digital 500 in order to receive the service. If you subscribe to Advanced Digital TV with SureWest Telephone you must subscribe to at least Digital Basic or higher and have Caller ID on your telephone line.
Do I have to subscribe to Caller ID for my SureWest telephone service in order to get Caller ID on TV?
Yes, in order have the Caller ID on TV feature you must also subscribe to one of the SureWest Telephone Caller ID features.
Where will the Caller ID alert appear on my TV screen?
The Caller ID pop up screen will appear at the top center of your television screen each time you receive a phone call.
Do I need any special equipment for the Caller ID on TV feature to work?
You do NOT need any additional equipment to use your Caller ID on TV feature. All you need is your SureWest set-top box, remote control and your subscriptions to SureWest Advanced Digital TV and SureWest Telephone.
Can I still receive Caller ID on TV if I have SureWest Digital TV and a different telephone provider?
In order to make the SureWest Caller ID on TV feature work, you have to subscribe to both SureWest Advanced Digital TV and SureWest Telephone.
If I have SureWest for my home phone service but I do NOT have SureWest for my cable provider can I still use the feature?
No, if you do NOT subscribe to both SureWest Advanced Digital TV and SureWest telephone you will NOT qualify for the service.
Will the Caller ID on TV image appear on programs recorded with my WHDVR?
No, the Caller ID pop up screen will only appear when a call is actually coming in. If you are recording a program and a call comes in, you will NOT see that information when watching the program at a later time.
Will the Caller ID on TV image appear on programs that are paused with my WHDVR or remain on screen as long as the program is in Pause mode?
No, the Caller ID on TV image will appear whether the DVR is in pause mode or NOT and will only appear for the designated time.
